“May I be safe.
May I be happy.
May I be healthy.
May I live with ease.”
This simple Metta or Loving Kindness meditation is easy to master and repeat to yourself at moments when you desperately need kindness.
Adapted from Buddha’s teachings, it’s an excellent starting point for developing an easy practice.
This episode is sponsored by the Imperfectly Perfect 5 Day Self-Compassion Challenge, where you can discover self-compassion strategies that you can implement in less than 20 minutes a day. Find out more information at https://www.inspiringselfcompassion.com/challenge.
Are you sick and tired of all the negative self-criticism that creeps into your brain at the worst possible time?
Stop me if you’ve ever said or thought this before . . . “I’m not good enough. I’m going to be a failure. This has to be perfect.”
All you really want is a proven way to quiet that tiny little voice so you can move forward in your business – easier said than done, right?
Research has shown that there is one particular mindset shift that overcomes perfectionism, fear, failure, an imposter syndrome while increasing personal motivation, positivity and overall growth.
I’m speaking of the unlimited power of self-compassion when it comes to your mindset and your self-confidence in your entrepreneurial path.
This is Inspiring Self-Compassion with Sarah McLain.
Let’s get into how self-compassion can change your life and your business.

Hi, and welcome to this week’s episode of Inspiring Self-Compassion.
I’m Sarah McLain, and self-compassion is absolutely my jam.

Today’s podcast is all about giving you 5 easy phone apps to develop a daily mindfulness practice.
I’ve had the chance to explore lots of different mindfulness apps over the last few years and I wanted to share some of my favorites with you today.
10 Percent is my absolute favorite meditation and mindfulness app. Created by Dan Harris, the Meditation for Skeptics guy, it has courses, single meditations, sleep meditations, and special talks like “Mindfulness, Systemic Racism, and You.”
I adore the fact that it has a way to favorite the meditations I like. My absolute favorite sleep meditations exist on this app and are the reason why I sleep as easily as I do.
Some of the experts on this app include Sharon Salzberg, Sebene Selassie, Kelly McGonigal, Joseph Goldstein, and Jeff Warren. I totally suggest that you start with this app.
In fact, I’m sharing with you a 30 day 10 percent guest pass if you’re new to the app. Check out https://www.inspiringselfcompassion.com/tenpercent
Headspace is another popular meditation app. It has super cute animations to go with the mediations plus offers options to personalize your meditations by choosing male or female voices, timer lengths, and guided or unguided meditations.
They’ve recently added workouts in addition to their meditation courses, single meditations, and sleep meditations.
Check out Headpace at https://www.headspace.com/ and get two weeks free.
The third meditation app, Calm, has its own unique charms in addition to the same kind of meditations as 10 Percent and Headpace.
If you enjoy falling asleep to stories, Matthew McConaughey will read you Wonder or Tamara Levitt will read Wind in the Willows to you. Your children might enjoy meditations from Thomas the Tank Engine characters. There are awesome music mediations, too.
Check out the Calm meditation app at https://www.calm.com.
The Mindfulness App is the 4th app I want to highlight today.
Some of the guest experts included on the Mindfulness App include Kristin Neff, Jack Kornfield, Tara Brach, and Sharon Salzberg and they teach awesome courses to develop self-compassion and mindfulness.
Check out the app at https://themindfulnessapp.com/.
The last app that I want to highlight is Breethe (BREETHE). The great thing about this app is that you can set goals like deal with anxiety, sleep, dealing with COVID and it will recommend meditations that will be useful.
They also have multi-day and hypnotheraphy programs to help you develop your mindfulness practice.
Check out the app at https://breethe.com/ for your free access.
